Volunteering at Special Events
Special events are typically annual events and include, but are not limited to:
  • Bring One for the Chipper - January
  • Adopt-a-Highway - Quarterly; typically in January, April, July, and October (instead of adopting a mile, volunteers can help when they are able)
  • Great American Cleanup - March 1 through May 31
    • Litter Index - The Keep America Beautiful Litter Index is a credible and simple tool that allows quick and reliable visual assessment of the types of litter present in a community
    • Community Cigarette Litter Pick-Up - Pick-up of cigarette litter throughout the community
    • Electronics Recycling Day - Recycling center will accept all types of electronics, including televisions sets (fee of $20 for TVs); free seed packets for all donations
    • Phone Book Recycling Day - Recycling center will accept phone books
    • Graffiti Hurts Kick-Off - Clean up / removal of graffiti in designated location(s)
    • Community Beautification Day
  • Ecumenical Earth Day - April
  • Rivers Alive Cleanup - October
  • Chatsworth and Eton Festivals - Fall
  • Christmas Parade - December
