9-1-1 Center Equipment
There are four dispatch work stations within the Murray County E9-1-1 Center. Each terminal is equipped with the same capabilities, consisting of the following.

Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD)
The computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system is used for processing and keeping computerized records of calls for service.

TDD / TTY
The TDD / TTY is integrated into the CAD system and is used to communicate with persons with disabilities who use a telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD) or teletypewriter (TTY) providing direct, equal access as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Geographical Information System (GIS) Mapping
The center’s GIS mapping system is updated as necessary to provide dispatchers with a vital tool in directing public safety personnel to residences and businesses within Murray County, the City of Chatsworth, and the City of Eton.  The Murray County building inspector’s office is responsible for collecting data to update the mapping system utilizing geographical position system (GPS) technology.

Phase II Wireless Compliance
The Murray County E9-1-1 Center is now Phase II Wireless compliant with the ability to receive basic information from the wireless caller along with identifying the caller’s location within 50 to 300 meters (approximately 164 feet to 984 feet), depending upon the wireless service provider's capabilities.

In addition, a DVD recording device is used to record all telephone lines and radio frequencies coming into and going out of the center for quality assurance and record-keeping purposes.
